Have you always wanted to start encoding,  but have absolutely no idea what to do. Then ask your questions here.

Of course all TG rules apply.

If any body need any help regarding MeGUI & Handbrake encoding, especially to reduce size with best quality or keep the maximum quality with suitable size, i can help with that.

I don't have experience with MeGUI, but I have done a lot of encoding using handbrake.

To get the size and quality I would strongly recommend using 2 pass encoding with an average bitrate,

the first pass allowing the encoding software to determine where to use a higher bitrate.

I have to point out that the encoding takes twice as long, so if you have slow machine this a

major consideration.

The average bitrate you select should be determined by the resolution that you are encoding,

720P requires a higher average bitrate than SD for instance. If you are completely lost as to what

average bitrate to use I would suggest you grab a copy of infomedia, this will allow you to

look at bitrates on other peoples encodes and get some idea.

RedBaron58 Thanks, i completely agree with you, but i mostly done single pass for 1080p and 720p, and i like Handbrake due to x265 encoding to decrease file size, for x264 megui was and always will my first choice :)

Mediainfo can be viewed if you install K-Lite Codec Pack, it is required for encoders usually, so right click and click > Mediainfo < it will do the deed.!

There are 2 other pieces of software I use one is AviDemux and the other is VideoReDo TVsuite v5, this because I do a lot of

TVrip from .ts files downloaded of satelite and an editting function is a must for all those ads lol

I understand what you are saying x265 encodes take a lot of time and processing, so 2 passes would be a lot

I think what you are asking is about capturing streamed material, there are various applications that can perform this,

but the one I use is called "TubeDigger". It has 2 modes download and record and does work with some encrypted streams.

I have not tried it on Amazon and Netflix as don't have accounts on either, but it works on BBC iplayer, putlockers and most sites

I visit.

I recently upgraded to this version myself (Windows Version) and I am impressed, setting up custom presets is a lot easier :)

Great for batch conversions

RedFox AnyDVD HD should work, you can get a 21 day free evaluation copy

https://www.redfox.bz/en/download.html

You use AnyDVD to copy the disc to your hard drive and then use Handbrake to do the encode for you.

There are older copies of AnyDVD on a site that is very close to home for you, but as you are asking

about BluRay the newer evaluation copy might give more joy

Thanks RB & HB
