Correct tracker spacing during torrent creation

When browsing torrents users can see how many seeders and leechers a torrent has. To display these stats our site uses the trackers you use when you created a torrent. When trackers are not correctly added to a torrent you create site will only showing one trackers instead of your entire list.

How site shows health of your torrents:

The number of seeders, leechers and downloads are displayed on your torrent page.

The number of seeders and leechers also shows on the browse page.

To update your stats on site go to this thread.

Adding trackers to your torrent correctly:

For site to display your trackers correctly you need to add a empty line between the trackers you add when you are creating a torrent. The trackerlist should look like this:

For an up to date tracker list go to this thread.

For a tutorial on how to create torrents on different bittorrent clients go to this thread.

Example of torrent with a correctly spaced trackerlist:

Here you see the torrent created on uTorrent. There's a white line between the trackers.

On the torrent page you will see the health of the torrent.

You don't have to add all of them, just a few will do and remember the empty lines between each tracker u add, like Angelina showed you

For anyone intrested, this is down to tracker "tiers".

By leaving a space, you are adding them to different tiers, and they will work in parallel.

If you dont leave the space, they will still work, just not in the way most people on public trackers expect.

They are all added to the same "tier" which means each works as a backup of the other, this is how private sites normally work.

The client will process each tier in parallel, and each tracker within a tier sequentially.

Sequentially means it starts by using the first tracker, if that works, nothing more happens.

If the first tracker fails, it will switch to trying the next tracker in the tier list, and run on that (only).

Each time the tracker in use fails, it tries the next in the tier list (and back round to the first one again).

Also worth noting that not all clients create torrents the same way.

In some, it doesnt matter if you leave a space or not, they will always add them in different tiers.

In others their are tick boxes to determine how to add them, and some allow you to specify the tier.

Thanks Battlestar

I don't suppose you know why sometimes all trackers work, but sometimes you have to stop and start the torrent to make them all work?

Sounds like a client oddity to me, I've never seen that happen.

Of course, public trackers are not always reliable, sometimes they will just fail, and then work next time you try.

Just wondering if the highlighted trackers count as one tracker as the client will only ever use one as there is no gap. Handy if the udp is down but the http is not.

udp://open.demonii.si:1337/announce

udp://opentor.org:2710/announce

udp://9.rarbg.to:2710/announce

udp://explodie.org:6969/announce

Well it seems pretty likely they will be the same.

That also means its likely that if one is down, the other will be as well, so not much gained. :)

I've will effectively always only have 14 trackers even if they are all good. So if I added another working tracker I would have 15 possible working trackers but the count would be 16. What would happen?

You cant have 16 trackers on TG.

Also, you dont need 15 trackers, or 14, that's just massive overkill and seriously unnecessary overhead.

Cheers battlestar my point is sort of mute:) So you can only have a max of 15 no matter what the tracker config of http, https or udp is.
