In the first half, George Knapp welcomed UFO researcher Robert Hastings and abductee Richard Barth to discuss Barth's 1964 encounter with aliens at Vandenberg Air Force Base. His experience occurred on a foggy night while guarding a missile silo. After his sergeant left at 2am, he claimed he saw a figure approaching through the fog. Initially believing it to be an officer, he soon realized the figure's face was terrifyingly blank, and Barth found himself unable to move his arm to draw his pistol. He blacked out and later found himself inside a small craft, kneeling in a circular, dark room with a round window. He described seeing four small beings that had "small bodies and very large heads," with large eyes and bald, newborn-like appearances. These beings were silhouetted against faintly illuminated walls, and their telepathic communications warned him not to look directly at them.
According to Barth, they then conveyed an urgent message: "We can't allow you to damage the planet." He sensed kindness and a motherly love from these creatures, who apologized for frightening him but insisted they needed to access the missile site to gather information. Hastings confirmed Barth's account aligns with many other reports of UFO encounters at nuclear sites, noting that he is the eighth example of an abductee connected to these types of facilities. Hastings speculated on the motives behind these visits, suggesting that various alien species are monitoring nuclear weapons because of their potential to destroy the planet. He noted that while UFOs appeared near nuclear sites as early as World War II, they did not intervene during the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
