I downloaded the source videos like "Salon.De.Holmes.S01E01.1080p.H264.AAC.IQ.WEB-DL-LoveBug.mkv" and obtained the best English subtitles I could find online - which were absolutely terrible - then... - Rewrote the subtitles as I watched to make the language more natural and fix many weird problems, especially the mixing up of male and female references - Used Subtitle Edit (by Nikolaj Lynge Olsson) to find and fix all flagged issues - Added 0.7 second to each subtitle (where possible) to allow more time to read them and adjusted words/minute to at least 280 - "Softened" all subtitled profanity (bastard --> jerk, damn --> darn, bitch --> wench etc.) - Corrected commonly-found typos, converted many word pairs into common English contractions, and brought together sentence fragments - Naturalized the English phrasing to retain fluid grammar by reducing sentence-initial conjunctions - Colored all media, signs, and flashback subtitles to salmon, yellow, and teal respectively - Used Handbrake to create new MKV files using my subtitles "Profanity is the parlance of the fool.
