E10After three weeks of intense competition, the heats are over and only the best nine cooks remain. Now, it’s the first of the semi-finals, and the celebrities are being tested on their teamwork with their toughest challenge so far. Split into three teams, the celebrities venture outside the MasterChef kitchen for the first time for a tough challenge. Based at Quaid-e-Azam Grand Ballroom in Digbeth, Birmingham, and under the guidance of executive chef Rehan Uddin, they must whip up a selection of starters, mains and desserts for no less than 120 hungry diners, who have been fasting all day. It’s a race against the clock, as once the sun sets, the food must be served. There’s a lot at stake, as the winning team will be granted immunity from the next challenge and won’t have to face a cook-off to secure their place in the competition. With everyone feeling the pressure to succeed, will the celebrities be able to create greatness, and will they manage to present their food on time? Next, it’s back to the MasterChef kitchen, as the two losing teams must create a celebratory showstopper to stay in the competition. Everything rides on the success of their creation. At the end of the challenge, one celebrity will be going home, and their dream of becoming the 2026 Celebrity MasterChef champion will be over. E11 Judges Grace Dent and Giorgio Locatelli are back as the semi-finals continue, and the eight remaining celebrity cooks continue to battle it out for the coveted MasterChef title. The eight remaining celebrity cooks are surprised by a very special guest – pastry powerhouse, restaurateur and Junior Bake-Off judge Ravneet Gill. The celebrities’ job is to create a layered dessert. With pastry being an exact discipline, they have to battle with temperature and timings to impress the judges and Ravneet. Their puddings must also have distinct layers – no mush! For one celebrity, it is the last time they cook in the MasterChef kitchen. Finally, the celebrities have the job of creating the ultimate comfort food – a gourmet burger. With such a broad brief and so many different options, how will the celebrities make sure their burger stands out? No-one can afford to slip up, as at the end of the challenge, one more celebrity will leave the competition. E12 The first challenge is a brand new one – the MasterChef auction. In front of the judges are six cloches, each of which has a different ingredient hidden underneath it that the celebrities must bid for, using time as their currency. Each celebrity starts with 120 minutes on the clock, but how ruthless will they be to outbid their fellow competitors, and how much cooking time will they be prepared to gamble away to ensure they secure the ingredient they want? To secure their place in finals week, the celebrities must produce a single dish of their own design for three of the country’s most-feared restaurant critics. Dining tonight will be MasterChef regulars Tom Parker Bowles and Leyla Kazim, and on his first ever visit to the MasterChef kitchen, content creator and Top Jaw host Jesse Burgess. Serving food to these masters of the dining room is a daunting task for even the most adept chefs, and the celebrities’ choice of dishes matters more than ever. Will their ingredients, flavours, and presentation be enough to impress, or will they fall short of the mark?
