Mr. Bill is a claymation featurette selected from viewer home movie submissions on the early Saturday Night Live comedy show. Mr. Bill and his "best friend" Sluggo, and dog, Spot, sky-rocketed in popularity, resulting in extra episodes, and later, independent features.
Each episode typically began innocently but quickly turned dangerous for Mr. Bill and his dog Spot, who often died in the sketches.
Mr. Bill suffered various indignities inflicted by "Mr. Hands," a man seen only as a pair of hands (originally performed by Vance DeGeneres).
Sometimes the abuse came from Sluggo, another clay character, which Mr. Hands often jokingly referred to as one of Mr. Bill's "best friends".
A recurring gag involved Mr. Bill expressing fear when Sluggo appeared, saying, "He's gonna be mean to me!", to which Mr. Hands would respond, "No!".
The violence escalated, usually ending with Mr. Bill being crushed or dismembered while screaming "Ohhhh noooooooooooooo!" in a falsetto voice
